Riley, William Milburn "Mil" View/Sign Guest Book RILEY, WILLIAM MILBURN "MIL," 84, of Highview, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at his home. He was a native Bardstown Junction, KY, and a retired employee of the old International Harvester, having served from 1947- 1983. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II stationed in Guam from 1944-1947. He was a member of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Posse in the 1960's. He also danced at the Opryland International clogging Championships in 1987 and won that competition and danced on the Grand Ole Opry stage at the time of the championships. He and Clara square danced for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha L. and Sylvester J. Riley; brothers, Raymond and Alex Riley. He is survived by his wife, the former Clara L. Tooley, whom he married on June 13, 1947, and recently celebrated 61 years of marriage. He is also survived by his daughter, Connie L. Shartzer; son, Darrell M. Riley; brothers, Paul B., Billy R. and Harry H. Riley; sisters, Joy Shadburne, Shirley A. Riley and Vivian Just; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren; and two great-great stepgrandchildren. His funeral service will be noon Thursday at Arch L. Heady & Son, Okolona, with burial in Louisville memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
