William Strader

November 15, 1931 — November 23, 2015

William Douglas Strader went to his heavenly home on Monday, November 23, 2015. Born on November 15, 1931 in Greenville, KY, the only child of William H. and Myrtle C. Walker Strader.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Morgan Strader, a son Stephen Douglas Strader and his parents.
He is survived by his son Paul S. Strader and his wife Judy, his daughter Kathy E. Watkins and her husband Charlie, and his only grandchild Michael Giralico and his partner in life Heather Bradley. He leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. He also leaves his "adopted" son Tony Shoffhouser.
Bill was a loving husband and father, Master upholsterer, an avid bowler and passionate fisherman. He retired from Delmonico Foods, a member of Lee's Lane Baptist Church, Shively Masonic Lodge #951, Scottish Rite and Order of Eastern Star.
Bill had battled kidney disease for past 7 years. He left us peacefully while in the compassionate care of the nurses at the Hosparus inpatient facility. We cannot thank them enough for the gentle, loving care he received during his passing. We also extend our appreciation to the nurses and staff at the Fresenius Dialysis Center in Valley Station for their care of our father over the past 5 years.
A heartfelt thank you goes to his caregiver and friend Debbie Miller. Debbie cared for our father and mother for the past 5 years and became part of our family. We love you Debbie!
