William "Bill" Edwards

William “Bill” E. Edwards, 94, loving husband to Helen (Whitworth) Edwards, passed away peacefully at home with his family.   He was born to the late James M. and Minnie (Wiseman) Edwards and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Mitchell, Donald and Joseph Edwards.

Bill worked for Joseph & Joseph Architects and was an active member of both Buechel Park Baptist and St. Matthews Baptist churches.  He was a WWII Veteran with the Army Air Force, a Purple Heart Recipient and flew 52 missions during the war.

Bill was a faithful servant to his Lord and was dedicated to his family and friends.  He loved to garden, fish, hunt and play dart ball.

Besides his wife of 71 years, he leaves to cherish his memory, daughter, Linda Alster (Robert), son Charles A. Edwards (Amy Johnson-Edwards), his beloved granddaughter Abigail, sister-in-law Edith Edwards along with nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 pm at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway.  Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
