William "Bill" Long

William L. “Bill” Long, Sr., 76, husband to Brenda (Miles) Long passed away on Wednesday October 14, 2020, with Brenda by his side, at Norton Audubon Hospital.  He was born to the late Edward L. and Essie (Duggins) Long in Louisville on May 20, 1944.

Bill loved the Lord and was a member of South Jefferson Baptist Church.  He was a retired service technician for Carrier Vibrating Equipment, Inc.

Bill was also a true outdoorsman that loved to fish, hunt and golf.

His family, especially the grandchildren, was the love of his life.

Besides Brenda, his wife of 27 years, he is survived by children, Bill Long, Jr. (Rhonda), Robyn Clemmons (Danny), Rick Long (Amanda), Todd Marr (Julie), Jason Long, and Cheryl Jones (Greg).  He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Lauren Alsip (Tim), Caleb Coomer (Melody), Abbie Dykes (Austen), Emma Long, Seth Long, Gracie Clemmons, Donte Marr, Ellie Clemmons, Sophie Long, Dustin Marr, Emily Long, Mia Marr and great-granddaughter, Kennedy Alsip.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 6:00 pm at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway.  Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 until time of service.

Due to Covid restrictions marks are required to be worn during visitation and service and social distancing is expected.
