Winders, Charles Lee "Chuck" View/Sign Guest Book WINDERS, CHARLES LEE "CHUCK," 60, of Louisville, peacefully left this earth to join his Heavenly Father, on Thursday, September 18, 2008 with his loving family by his side. The past 17 months, he courageously battled pancreatic cancer with his humor and competitive nature. Through the years, Chuck touched so many lives whether it be at the ball field, firehouse or race track. During the last few weeks, was able to visit and talk with so many who stopped by, called and sent cards. His family is deeply appreciative for the kindness and support shown during this difficult time. He was a retired firefighter for the Louisville Fire Department where he worked for 25 years, a graduate of Manual High School, a member of Kentucky Bourbon Softball where he played left field, National Hot Rod Association, KY. National Guard, and Valley View Community Church and was the career winningist driver at the Louisville Motor Speedway. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jan Vandgrift Winders; his children, Wendy Adams (Levi) and Joey Troklus (Christi); six grandchildren, Shelby, Gracie, Hayley and Tuff Adams, Jarrett and Carlee Troklus; and his sister Brenda Blair. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Valley View Christian Church, 8911 3rd Street Road, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m 8 p.m. Sunday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway and from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday at his church.
