Davis, Lawrence "Bud" View/Sign Guest Book DAVIS, LAWRENCE "BUD," 85, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2007. Bud retired from the old L&N Railroad after 43 years of service. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Millcreek/Bill Pieper VFW Post and Shawnee American Legion Post #193. He was the first president of the St. Polycarp Booster Club and an avid U of L fan. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Marie West and Virginia Kunzler. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 48 years, Joan Davis; and his beloved children, Roberta Howard (Kenneth), Lawrence Davis, Marcia Simmons (Jamie), Leslie Poore, Nancy Walker (Tommy) and "almost daughter," Lorie Sklodoski. "Pop" was an adoring grandfather to Lori Bowman, Chip Morgan, Tommy, Terry and Timmy Walker and Alex Simmons; great- grandchildren, Blake, Sarah Bowman and Hailey, Autumn and Terry Walker, who were very special to him; his sisters, Lavada Sanders (Duncan); and his brothers, Roscoe Davis (Mary) and George Davis (Joyce). A celebration of Bud's life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Polycarp Church, 7718 Columbine Dr., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation: noon-8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made by a contribution to the American Diabetes Association or to his church.
