VOLLMER, ELLA MAE (HOOVER), 89, formerly of Louisville, passed away June 25, 2011 in Fairborn, OH where she was a resident for 20 years.
Ella was born August 6, 1921 in Sparrow Point, MD and being one of six children from the union of the late Peter Louise Hoover and Myrtle Rhodes Hoover. Ella was a retired employee from National Distillers, a member of Ladies Auxiliary for the Louisville Fire Department and a member of the American Legion in Fairborn, OH.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Vollmer, who was a retired major of the Louisville Fire Department; sisters, Juanita Patterson and Doris Cheatam; and brother, Louis Hoover.
She is survived by her brothers, William A. "Al" Hoover (Elmetta) of West Palm Beach, FL and Charles Hoover (Claire) of Louisville; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Arch L Heady and Son Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd, with private entombment in Louisville Memorial Gardens - West. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
