Harold “Tommy” Hood, 68, of Coxs Creek, Kentucky passed away on Friday April 8, 2022, with his loving family by his side. He was born on December 7, 1953, to Marie (McCowan) Hobson and the late Harold Payne Hood. Tommy retired from J.C.P.S. as a compound attendant and bus driver. Tommy was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp and served in the Indiana National Guard. He was a Christian and served as a deacon at Rockford Lane Baptist Church where he was a member.
Tommy enjoyed life and had many interests. He liked to ride his motorcycle, traveling to Gatlinburg for car shows with his purple 1967 Chevy II Nova, working in his garage and cutting grass on his seven acres of land. He liked to watch the ships on the ocean with his binoculars and he always enjoyed eating good meals. Most of all Tommy enjoyed spending time with his family and riding around his property with his border collie, Maverick. He is preceded in death by his father, stepfather, one sister and two brothers.
Tommy is survived by the love of his life, his wife Tammie whom he was married to for almost 36 years; daughters, Mandy Hood McGrew (Erik) and their sons Leland, Raylan and Sutton and Cynthia Hood Chipps and her children Dwane, Dawne, and Devin; mother, Marie Hobson; six sisters, two brothers, and an abundance of nieces & nephews.
Funeral services for Tommy will be at 6:00 pm on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Ky. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home.
