Iris Leftwich "Eileen" ShareE-mail Visit Guest Book LEFTWICH, IRIS "EILEEN," 86, of Louisville, passed away Monday, June 8, 2009 at the Masonic Home with her loving family by her side. She was a native of Knoblick, KY and moved to Louisville in 1941 with her husband of 65 years S.W. "Lefty" Leftwich, who preceded her in death in 2006. Together they owned Leftwich's Phillips 66 Service Station until retirement. She was also a member of Carlisle Ave. Baptist Church. Eileen was a talented painter and pianist who filled her home with love and song. Quick with an Irish tune, her twinkling blue eyes and bright smile lit up a room. She also made a hobby of capturing her family history, including their journey from Ireland to the United States. She leaves to cherish her memory, her adoring family, daughters, Iris Faye Sermon (Tommy) and Rita Jo Miller (David), both of Louisville; four grandchildren, Kevin Sermon (Kim), of Leitchfield, KY, Keith Sermon, of Columbus, OH, Tonya Miller, of Simpsonville, Jeremy Miller, of Fisherville, KY; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Nunnelley Funeral Home, 4327 Taylor Blvd. with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Thursday and after 11 a.m. Friday. The family requests in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Alzheimer`s Association , www. alz.org.
