John “Jack” Krekel, 76, beloved husband of Rosemary, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of his heavenly father, on February 7, 2022, at Hosparus, in Louisville. He was born on May 12, 1945, in Louisville, the son of the late John and Lucille Krekel. He was a retired United States Army Veteran and Airforce National Guard Veteran. He was a member of Southeast Christian Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Jack was 76 going on 25, he was a passionate man who loved his family and his country. He never met a stranger, was loyal, and if you were Jack’s friend, he would do anything for you. He was an avid U of L Cards fan, enjoyed bowling, muscle cars and loved music from the 50’s and 60’s, his favorite song was Unchained Melody. Besides his loving wife, Rosemary, he is survived by his daughter, Chrissy Helton (Michael Sandlin), son, Charles Contreras (Brooke), sister, Barbara Nunn, sister-in-law, Denise Bryant, grandchildren, Tori, Kyndal, Cameron, and Reagan and his great granddaughter, Harper Sue. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his honor to Hosparus or to the Marion County Honor Guard.
