Margaret Weathers

September 13, 1936 — February 11, 2013

WEATHERS, MARGARET HILL, passed away February 11, 2013.

She was a native of Montgomery, AL, and a graduate of Alabama State College (University).

Margaret loved her chosen profession and hundreds of children were blessed to have her as their first grade teacher because she worked diligently to give them a good start as they began their school journey.

Margaret was a loving wife and mother and a faithful member of West End Church of Christ. Although a graduate of Alabama State College, she found a way to help young people attend college by working with Alabama A&M University after her son graduated there.

She owned and operated a consignment store, A Treasure Chest, for ten years. Margaret loved watching sports and traveling. In 2011, she fulfilled a lifelong dream of traveling to Alaska.

Her parents, Estelle and Wilbert Hill; sisters, Bernice Hill Gray and Emma Jean Hill Wilson; and brothers, Jimmy, David and Henry "Sonny" Hill, preceded Margaret in death.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Weathers Jr.; son, Marty L. (Angela) Weathers; stepson, Charles B. (Linda) Weathers; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; as well as one brother, Elbert (Pauline) Hill; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at G.C. Williams Funeral Home. Visitation is 1 p.m. until service time.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Louisville Chapter, Alabama A&M University, P.O. Box 2874, Louisville, KY, 40201 or West End Church of Christ, 4401 W. Broadway, Louisville, KY, 40211.
