Raymond E. “Rainman” Landers, was born on December 10, 1950 and on November 23, 2018 he left behind his beloved wife of 24 years, Mary Jo “Hopsing” Landers. She was the love of his life.
He was a ‘68 graduate of duPont Manual High School; he served in the Army, SP4 in US Special Forces, Green Beret unit. He worked for Louisville Gas & Electric for 28 years, and retired from Bray Electric after 12 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ross and Viola Landers, his sister Jeanie C. Thomas and brother-in-law Michael A. Thomas.
Besides his wife, he leaves his sister Diane Adkins (Elmer), sons Ross E. Landers (Carrie), Dan Whirley, cousin Lisa Hagan (Bryan), uncle Ray Bledsoe, along with many cousins. He will also be missed by his extended family Mike, Marilynne, Matthew (Melodie) Robinson, Marsha Puckett (David) and their children. He also leaves behind all of his beloved friends/family at Bud’s Tavern. He will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 12:00 pm at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway. Visitation will be Friday from 12-8 and Saturday from 10:00 until time of service.
