RADEMAKER, RITA M., 84, of Louisville, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Nazareth Home.
Born May 4, 1927 she was the youngest child of Addie Wessel and Phillip Quillman.
Rita was a graduate of Valley High School. She retired from Brown & Williamson. She had been a member of the Shively police force and worked as an investigator for Pinkerton Detective Agency. She was a former member of St. Helen and St. Denis Catholic Church. Rita was a Senior Bird Cheerleader for the University of Louisville, a Clown School graduate and she loved exercise class with her many friends. Rita believed in giving back. She volunteered at Kosair and Sts. Mary & Elizabeth. Traveling, hosting great Derby parties and spending time with her large extended family were a few of her passions.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, John Edgar Rademaker, Alvin Ray Phillips and Henry Glover Logsdon; her siblings, Tony, Carl, Duke and Maurice Quillman, Roberta Boston and Mary Lou Gillespie.
She is survived by her only child, Susan Rita Logsdon of Indianapolis, IN, who had the privilege of caring for her until she drew her last breath. She leaves behind wonderful, caring nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to list.
Her funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Nazareth Home Chapel, 2000 Newburg Road, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday at J.B. Ratterman & Sons - Grand Chapels, 4832 Cane Run Road and from 9:30 a.m. Friday at Nazareth Home.
