HOBBS, ROBERT L. "BOB," 78, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Rockford Manor Nursing Home.
He was born in Fancy Farm, KY on June 7, 1933 to Everett Hobbs and Iva (Toon) Hobbs. He was an Army Veteran and Catholic by Faith. A long time member of St. Basil's, now Mary Queen of Peace. He retired from Ford Motor Co. in 1992 with 36 years of service. He worked part-time at Superior Van Co. after retiring.
He was predeceased by his mother; father; four brothers, Bill, Curtis, Earl and Ed; and a sister, Mary Ella (Mae) Carrico.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Verna Jean (Wilson) Hobbs; his son, Kevin Hobbs (Lisa); daughter, Kimberly Hobbs (Kim #2 and Dillon); four grandsons, Addison, Austin, Sawyer and Parker; one sister, Lucille Robinette; two brothers, Tom and Dewey; a great number of nieces and nephews and friends and neighbors.
The family wishes to thank caregivers at Norton's, Frazier, Rockford manor and everyone for all your prayers and support.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home West, with entombment in Louisville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be Monday, July 18, 2011 from 2 - 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 - 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
